My research interests cover several areas within the fields of development and emerging economies. Broadly speaking, I have an interest in the functioning of labour markets, especially urban informal ones. I have combined this interest with investigations of economic vulnerability amongst Delhi's street vendors.
Further back in time, I developed an interest in the operational aspects of liberalisation policies as practised amongst many emerging economies over the years. Amongst other areas, and more recently, I have developed an interest in research that sits at the intersection of aid, corruption and the environment. I am also interested in the economics of food security and how different political climates govern that space.
I have published in all these areas as well as in the area of education. A selection of these publications, and other work, appear on the next page.
